About the Destinations:

Chiang Rai Province boasts a rich array of attractions, often overshadowing its capital city. Despite its small size, this charming city offers a lot to explore, with its laid-back ambiance, affordable accommodations, and delectable local cuisine. It serves as a convenient hub for planning trips to the more remote corners of the province.

Established by Phaya Mengrai in 1262 as part of the Lao-Thai Lanna kingdom, Chiang Rai didn’t come under Siamese control until 1786 and didn’t gain province status until 1910.

The Golden Triangle stands as one of Asia’s two primary opium-producing regions. Spanning approximately 950,000 square kilometers, this area overlaps the mountainous terrain of three Southeast Asian countries: Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.

Itinerary

Hotel pickups from downtown Chiang Mai begin around 7:00 AM.
Visit to Mae Khachan hot spring.
Explore the White Temple (Rong Khun temple).
Journey to Mae Sai, situated at the border of Thailand and Myanmar.

Discover the Golden Triangle, marking the intersection of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.
Return to downtown Chiang Mai hotels around 9:00 PM
